Description
“Long Shot” is a heavily impastoed painting addressing hopeless desire. Black and gray create an opening, a sort of window where an orange cross can be seen. The use of this cross is as informal as its use of marking the spot or target. Placing it vertically triggers a more sacred interpretation, while playing with the idea that the ideal is all but dead. The use of yellow creates a foreground from which we can observe.
