Name
Making an Egg with Hands by Nikita Diakur
Description
The set consists of three recordings showcasing an egg manipulated by two animated hands in a simulated kitchen environment. The recordings are derived from 59 simulations, each with the same setup for the hands and objects but varying number of steps per frame and iterations per step in the main scene simulation settings. The variations in the physics settings result in different interactions between the hands and the egg in each simulation.
In addition to the visual element, Foley sounds were recorded and edited in post to align with the movements in the simulations. The artwork, in its entirety, is a representation of the interplay between uniform animation inputs and the unpredictability of a simulation.
