Description
Tūrangawaewae, a sacred place where roots find solace - This is an edition to express my appreciation for the support of my collectors.
The 1300 km hike down Te Waipounamu, the South Island, was an exhilarating journey, showcasing breathtaking landscapes and awe-inspiring beauty. It challenged me physically and spiritually, prompting me to seek my own tūrangawaewae - a place of belonging.
As I immersed myself in the rugged terrain, nature's raw splendour connected me to my ancestors. The forests whispered their presence, the mountains stood as guardians, and the rivers carried the wairua; spirit. Amidst this vast wilderness, I realised that my tūrangawaewae was more than a physical location; it was a profound spiritual connection to the land. Feeling humbled by the ancient history of this place, I found solace and belonging surrounded by mountains, forests, and alpine lakes. This was my place - my tūrangawaewae.
