Inside of all people, undoubtedly, there is a yearning for "better". This can be anything we believe, but all want to become better than they are. Taking action on this is a different matter. But the intention of this artwork was to convey that feeling, that yearning. The remembrance of where we were is often a primary motivation (we don't ever want to be there again - we want to do better). The thought of what we could be is another. Both is important to progress in real terms.
