Description
As Cielo ventured through the doorway, leaving Comet to patiently wait outside, Comet's worry for his companion reminded the wisp of his own friend too. Many human lifetimes ago, when the wisp possessed strength but lacked wisdom, it often grew tired of humans who sought passage at its threshold. They would attempt to bypass the wisp's gaze through trickery and deceit.
One day, after turning away yet another cunning human, a blackbird appeared upon the wisp's shoulder. It was a peculiar sight indeed as if the bird had lost its human companion and found itself inadvertently trapped within the wisp's plane.
From that moment forward, the blackbird faithfully visited the wisp each day. With every encounter, the wisp regarded the creature with increasing astonishment. Unlike humans, the blackbird harboured no desire or intention to pass through the door; it was content simply in the wisp's presence.
Over time, a unique bond formed between the wisp and the blackbird. They developed a means of communication, and the blackbird shared tales with the wisp of its life on Earth and its great ancestors who once ruled over the planet. Each day became a special opportunity for the wisp to listen and learn from the blackbird.
However, one day the blackbird appeared frail and feeble, and the next, it did not return. The wisp could sense its friend had moved on to the next world and felt a sense of loss. Yet, in the sadness, the wisp chose to hold onto the fond memories and conversations they had once shared.
