Description
Exploring the book as both an object and a container for knowledge, this artwork features a closed book whose covers evoke themes of human presence and absence. The piece highlights two states of the book: one with a drawn impression of a hand over the painting of the book, and one without. Transitioning between the two, the digital version of the painting conjures the human desire to unlock meaning in ordinary objects.
This digital animation, derived from a 16" x 12" acrylic painting on a panel by Jordan Buschur, was created during the 2024 Digital Artist Residency at the Toledo Museum of Art.
