Description
Walking along the road as it climbed up through the quiet forest I could feel the fresh, cool air on my skin, when light from one side suddenly caught my eye.
As I looked into the forest, there was this lone white tree, standing resplendent in it's white bark, draped in just a few strands of stringy bark and looking almost naked compared to those around it.
Highlighted by the warmth of the morning sun as if it were a movie star, I stopped to admire it and I just knew that I had to capture it's beauty.
Taking attempt after attempt to align the right shutter speed, the right amount of camera movement, and maintain the composition, this photograph was made in such a way as to imitate the artists paintbrush, and yet still capture the scene.
Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) involves the movement of the camera at a specific speed and/or direction during the operation of the shutter, resulting in a blurred image that still contains detail and a story of what it is about, and what it contains.
