A steady climb to a picturesque subalpine meadow reveals one the most extraordinary peaks in the Canadian Rockies. During winter’s coldest months, ice textures shift and shape daily, creating magical scenes juxtaposed against a breathtaking mountain backdrop.
On my second journey there in a week, I was rewarded by a full moon creeping over snow-capped peaks. Each prominent ridge-line curved up to the sky leading to the moon placed so perfectly in the night. Below, snow billowed like pillow tops rolling and glimmering in ethereal light while a shimmering frozen river wound with feathered textures reflected the sky’s luminance.
To be alone in this place brings one closer to their innermost self. A place where dreams and reality converge under the stars.
