Description
This piece is inspired by Choi Ho-cheol's masterpiece “Euljiro Circular Line”, which vividly portrays the daily lives of Seoul's residents. Euljiro Circular Line, also known as Seoul subway line 2, is the most frequented subway by Seoulites, and showcases a diverse cross-section of society—from children to the elderly, students to merchants, along with views of Seoul's cityscape. The original is considered a definitive representation of Seoul during the 1980s and 1990s. Artist CJrouble's “Euljiro Circular Subway” depicts the Seoul subway as it appears in 2024, an era dominated by smartphones and LED electronic displays. --- # [CJroblue] With a career that spans nearly two decades, Choi Jung Hyun (aka CJroblue) is a celebrated illustrator and artist whose contributions to NFT history in Korea is nothing short of indispensable. Drawing inspiration from the rich pace of daily life in Seoul, CJroblue masterfully captures fleeting moments often overlooked by busy city-goers, and channels them into emotionally charged artworks that force us to linger on the small things. At the heart of CJroblue’s artistic endeavors is a mission to convey healing and comfort to viewers about their own everyday lives. Through his artwork, he unveils the sublime beauty hidden within the ordinary, and invites audiences to explore the emotions, memories, and connections that lie hidden just beneath the surface. In doing so, he hopes we can see the small things more clearly, and each other with greater interest and empathy. Beyond his own art, CJroblue boasts an impressive collaboration history with numerous domestic and global brands, including contributing illustrations for Warner Bros Korea’s "Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey" as well as Hyundai, Rolls-Royce, LG subsidiaries, Adobe, Toyota, Samsung, and more.
