Description
Inspired by the imagery of "The Birth of Venus" in the history of art, this work takes the viewer on a journey through a vivid and transcendent realm where the traditional narrative is subverted and a new story of queer identity unfolds.
As a male presenting, Venus represents embracing one's femininity with incomparable pride, overcoming traditional ideals of masculinity. His existence is a tribute to the beauty and strength found in the fluidity of gender.
His birth is the birth of every queer persona, a journey towards self-discovery fraught with difficulties as he navigated a world that frequently rejected change. He emerged from a shell, an armor of protection with the shine of self-love.
The work contains many references to experiences familiar to many queer people.
The protagonist, a wanderer through realms diverse, found himself scorned and spurned, rejected by those who could not fathom his essence.
Driven to despair, concealing his true self within a shell, he embarked on a descent to the ocean's depths, guided by sorrowful tears that flowed ceaselessly for seven days and seven nights. To his astonishment, the submerged world welcomed him with open arms, embracing the queer shine he carries within.
Among the denizens of the aquatic realm, his newfound companions gazed upon the curious shell that held his being. In time, he unveiled his radiant self, revealing the brilliance that resided within, an extraordinary and incredibly awesome Queer. And thus, he became yet another resplendent star, adorning the depths of the ocean with his luminous presence, a testament to the acceptance that awaited those who dared to shine in their truest form.
Rising from the sea, his companions admire his courage in defying conventions and live authentically, understanding that true beauty is found in diversity and self-acceptance, celebrating with pride this joyful moment.
The entire scene pictured with an iridescent blues and purples palette hinting to the mysticism of queerness.
