Description
A friend of mine and I head north of Paris to pick up an acquaintance- who promised us the perfect spot for painting. He has someone with him, making us a group of four. Following our guide, who keeps the destination a mystery, we arrive at a set of imposing gates on a bridge over the railway. The adventure truly begins as we carefully scale the gates, dodging the spikes at the top. A hazardous contortion later, we slip onto a ladder encased in metal rings, our only safeguard against a 15-meter drop. Maneuvering with our bags adds to the thrill. Once on the railway track, we hurry to the wall to stay out of sight. Finally, in position, we unleash our creativity, each painting a section of the strip in our own style. Artist(s): Drol Location: 18E ARR., Paris 2013 --- # [Drol] At some point, unfamiliar but beautiful graffiti began to take over the underpasses, rooftops, and streets of Seoul, and at the center of it all was the artist Drol. A French-born graffiti virtuoso who made Korea his home in 2016, he began transforming Seoul’s underpasses, rooftops, and streets with his unique style—a blend of underground comics and 19th-century European painting. Embracing elements of rap, hip-hop, and classic comics, Drol turns forgotten corners into whimsical worlds of fantasy and fairy tales, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Korean graffiti. His versatility extends beyond the streets to illustrations, exhibitions, installations, and tattoos. Having participated in France's International Biennale and various residencies, Drol collaborates on projects celebrating Franco-Korean relations and works with industry giants like Sony Pictures and Mini Cooper. His artist name, reflecting a playful duality, embodies his transition from 'DROL' (kid) to 'LORD' (absolute one). Instagram: [@drolnim](https://www.instagram.com/drolnim/)
