Name
Paris Graffiti: Streets Wide Open
Description
Fellow graffiti artist Pere Dedu and I embarked on an unforgettable bar crawl during my visit to Normandy. He always puts me up when I’m in town. After last call at the bars, we headed back to his place for a night cap. Our conversations, as always, were long and filled with grand ideas and wild dreams. By 4 am, we both craved an adrenaline rush. We often go out at night to create art; the nocturnal atmosphere is special, and the thrill of transgression is exhilarating. Armed with spray cans, we set off on a walk, stopping under a bridge to paint a piece together in the spur of the moment. The next morning, after a strong coffee, we returned to immortalize the moment with a photo.

# [Drol]
At some point, unfamiliar but beautiful graffiti began to take over the underpasses, rooftops, and streets of Seoul, and at the center of it all was the artist Drol. A French-born graffiti virtuoso who made Korea his home in 2016, he began transforming Seoul’s underpasses, rooftops, and streets with his unique style—a blend of underground comics and 19th-century European painting. Embracing elements of rap, hip-hop, and classic comics, Drol turns forgotten corners into whimsical worlds of fantasy and fairy tales, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Korean graffiti. His versatility extends beyond the streets to illustrations, exhibitions, installations, and tattoos. Having participated in France's International Biennale and various residencies, Drol collaborates on projects celebrating Franco-Korean relations and works with industry giants like Sony Pictures and Mini Cooper. His artist name, reflecting a playful duality, embodies his transition from 'DROL' (kid) to 'LORD' (absolute one).
