this is a genesis piece representing an unexpected yet emerging medium in my work: watercolors
i painted this at a flower studio i first discovered while meandering down a street in brooklyn in 2020. i have since grown from being an intimidated admirer to a regular to family. i'm proud of that and think it's a great example of my path. paying attention to what piques my interest, makes me happy, offers growth and learning. most importantly, surrounding myself with good people + places who serve as model examples, supportive friends, and inspiration for doing things differently
i find creative escapes, consistency, and wildcards[flowers] important for peace. im grateful i signed up for a class (thru a curated collab) that challenged me to expand
after being frustrated by a blank page, i noticed the subject in front of me. finding my groove felt liberating. a repetitive reminiscent reminder of who i am
