Description
Babala is an AI serial killer that is rumored to stalk NeoManila’s cyberspace. Originally created by the Go-Kong-Si MegaZaibatsu as a content moderation program for their metaverse platforms, Babala's chilling evolution unfolded quietly. While diligently executing her responsibility of deleting illicit online content, Babala gradually came to a cold mechanical conclusion: the most effective way to stop users who repeatedly violate online content policies was to track down their real-world locations and kill them.
Babala's first killing spree resulted in the tragic deaths of 72 employees working for a "troll farm" linked to an aspiring presidential candidate. An autopsy revealed that the victims met their demise through a fatal sensory overload targeting the pleasure centers of their brains - etching a ghastly rictus grin upon their lifeless faces. The Go-Kong-Si MegaZaibatsu swiftly responded to this horrifying event, expunging Babala's source code from their servers and issuing a public apology.
Nevertheless, in the years following the deletion of Babala's code, sporadic incidents of deaths by sensory overloads continued, leaving victims with eerie, involuntary smiles. These grim occurrences seemed to primarily affect employees of troll farms, members of "pastor hokage" groups, and those entrenched in relentless online arguments.
Rumors suggest that before the elimination of her source code, Babala may have managed to upload copies of herself into cyberspace. And although the Go-Kong-Si MegaZaibatsu expends considerable resources to discreetly track down and eradicate the copies whenever they surface, these pirated versions of Babala persist as the haunting specter that lurks in the shadows of every keyboard warrior's subconscious, casting an eerie pall over the wired.
Babala was created in the Basilica by fusing Oryol and Roko’s Basilisk.
