Description
My homelands in the Rheinland in Germany are not what i consider epic landscapes when i compare them to my usual hunting grounds in northern scandinavia or the southern realms of this world.
However, when the right weather conditions hit, these rather random places can shine. On a foggy autumn morning some years ago, my local views were suddenly transformed into a mysterious fairytale wonderland.
While wondering around i started focussing on this view, which is rather inaccessible due to the local farmers and their cattle grounds.
Fog was drifting in and out and the sun kept throwing spotlights into this scene, making the autumnal shrubs and little trees shine in wonderful shades of gold.
I opted for a very long focal range of 500mm to exclude all the clutter from the scene while focussing on this one tree that had already lost all its leaves. Waiting for the right moment to take my picture i was completely in the zone. Hearing whispers in the distant fog.
A truly magical morning!
In postproduction i focussed on the dreamy feeling i had on location and further worked it into this file by selectively enhancing contrasts and saturation to guide the viewers eye.
