1. Who are you?
I was born in Japan but raised in South Florida and I’m a Generation Xer. 55 years old.
2. What has your relationship with your body been like over the years?
I was always a skinny kid and played some recreational sports(soccer, karate, tennis) as a kid but in my 30’s I became a competitive athlete. Probably in the best shape of my life but I have stopped training at that competitive level the last few years.
3. What are you most grateful for about your body?
I’ve learned that I have more potential than I ever expected.
4. What do you love most about yourself?
My innate ability to enjoy life and savor new experiences. I'm a big kid at heart.
5. Tell me about your relationship to the person in these photos.
It has been years in the making to feel comfortable in my skin. To just be and not worry about what other people think.
6. When you look at these photos of yourself, what do you see?
There are moments where that guy in the photo is really thoughtful, and introspective.
7. What do you want others to know?
That we need to embrace our unique qualities and celebrate who we are now. Our perspective changes as we get older and too many people look back and wish they share a kind word or two with their younger selves as we are our own worst critic.
