In this work I decided to combine three of my favorite symbols: color, water and the story of mermaids. I use polar colors: warm and cold. I am madly in love with binarity, and showing it through color is the best solution for me as an artist. Darkness and light, the wandering of the soul in darkness and light are my inner experiences as a hero. The mermaid is one of the most mysterious and mesmerizing symbols in art, representing mystery, beauty and danger. In art, the mermaid often symbolizes not only magic and attraction, but also the futility of human existence and the danger of delusion. I didn't want to make this symbol obvious, so I expressed it metaphorically and in combination with water. I combined it all together and it turned out to be something beautiful that I fell in love with. I also wanted to create the effect of an old photograph, so I used the texture of old paper and some scans on the printer.
