Growing up immersed in the rich cultural heritage of East Africa, Maulana eventually received formal training for his artistic skills in Dar es Salaam, where he mastered the traditional techniques of depicting animals, birds, and cartoons with intricate detail. Since 2001, Maulana has showcased his works in numerous exhibitions, including notable events such as the Tingatinga Cartoon exhibition in Kenya from 2007 to 2008, which gained popularity among children and received international television coverage. He has also participated in prestigious shows such as "Voices of Wisdom" in Zanzibar from 2010 to 2012 and exhibitions at the National Museum in Dar es Salaam from 2009 to 2013. Maulana's dedication to Tingatinga art not only sustains his livelihood but also preserves and promotes this distinctive Tanzanian artistic tradition globally.
