Name
Alma Portena, Buenos Aires
Description
Fragment of a larger composition crafted with India ink, the iconic Venus from Botticelli’s masterpiece is shown with her face crossed out, calling out the suppression and voicelessness that derives from societal norms on femininity and hegemony. The forces of nature, represented by the Azure Dragon of eastern cosmogony, disrupt this reality by calling upon a ravaging tempest: birthing chaos as an emancipatory instance from the often unseen dominant power structures.

# [Midya Zeta]
Currently an educator at the Moderno Museum, Midya Zeta's artworks immerse itselves in the diverse minutiae of daily life through oneiric—almost fantastical—compositions. With the emphasis heavily set on the figure (which is prioritized over the palette) Midya crafts narratives that allow spectators to become acquainted with the beauty and chaos of mundanity.
Deeply influenced by surrealism and expressionism, she captures the multitude of emotions, anxieties, and mysteries that characterize human existence, creating pieces that invite the public to look beyond the surface and explore the complex narratives within each painting.
