Name
Canvas Legacies by Yadegar Asisi
Description
150 years ago, on 15 April 1874, Paris witnessed a revolution in art with the inauguration of the first Impressionist exhibition. More than 20 artists took part, boldly breaking artistic conventions and defying the norms of the time. Some of them pioneered what we now know as Impressionism, and the movement was largely driven by Claude Monet.
In commemorating this milestone, this work pays homage to a pivotal moment in art. The perspective presented in this 1/1 piece from the Canvas Legacies series endures the legacy of Impressionism and the profound impact that technology has had on art.
Like the first 6 pieces, the core of this story is a 6 metre wide oil painting created by Yadegar Asisi as a tribute to the groundbreaking vision of the Impressionist movement. The sequence was developed through a meticulous process involving macro photography, 3D depth mapping and motion design.
