Description
I do love the BMW 507 because of the purity of its design and also because of its history.
Back in 1956 when BMW launched the 507, the Mercedes Benz 300 SL was its main direct competitor. And BMW quickly realised that it was a battle already lost, as the 300 SL was already really popular and more beautiful to the eyes of the grand public. This paired to the quick increase of the production costs in Germany, almost made BMW broke.
Indeed, BMW was expecting to produce thousands of them yearly, mainly for the US and ended up only producing 252 cars in total.
So seeing a BMW 507, either in the streets or at an event, to me is always something special and worth being contemplated.
