Dream Journal: The Machine Dreams in Blue
Description
Millennium Blue (Smart Home Computer, RW-2104 model, ‘92 edition) hums quietly on the table beside the window. For years its memory has been filled with thousands of photographs, poems, books, but the most precious thing it contains is a diary, everyday notes about its owner’s life. She just finished today’s entry and is getting ready to go outside into the drizzling rain. Polaroids scattered across her desk, white dandelions, a souvenir from yesterday’s walk, their heads floating like little spherical clouds above a simple water glass. She leaves her computer on its spot by an open window. The view of the city is clouded by milky white mist, curtains sway softly caught by a stream of wet air. The rain has started recently and it seems like it will only get stronger. She picks up an umbrella and closes the door, her computer buzzing, singing its never-ending mechanical tune. In a quiet room soothed by the monotonous sound of rain Millennium Blue starts to dream.
