Description
### GALLUS - 1945 - FRANCE (PARIS) - **Compact** - **127 film** - **Rare** The Derlux is a French camera produced by Gallus immediately after world war II, in 1945. This very peculiar camera belongs to a very peculiar time in French history, following the liberation from German occupation. The entire unit is built in polished aluminum, without any paint or sheathing, giving the Derlux a very distinctive aspect and requiring a lot of attention to be kept shiny. The front plate, which must be pulled to operate, is connected to the rear body by a small bellow. An interesting feature is the winding knob which also operates as a speed selector. Due to its unique design, the Derlux is a camera you do not forget and acts as an eye catcher on any collection shelf. In that regard it makes one think of the Ilford Advocate that had a somewhat similar radical design. In the 60s Gallus reoriented its production on odontological material due to extreme competition in the camera market, especially from Japan. The company went out of business in the 90s. ### Associated project shares - **1 Share** of the 99 Cameras Club project Discover the **[club's camera collection](https://99cameras.club/discover-the-99-cameras)**.
**[99 Cameras Club](https://99cameras.club)** for updates.
Read the **[term and conditions](https://99cameras.club/terms)**.

**Note** : This Collectible is not an official product from the represented camera manufacturer.
