A pit-firing of the self, with the head becoming a kiln to fire ceramics in. Pit firings are the oldest method of heating brittle clay with fire to alchemically transform it into durable ceramic. In 'Aed' the performer models clay on his head whilst the firing process takes place - transforming himself at the moment the malleable clay turns to rigid ceramic.
